The Management
The management little interferes in the affairs of the subsidiary companies, each given the freedom to manage its own business. Mertju Buana is not a family business although a majority of the shares are owned by the Probosutedjo family.
Mertju Buana’s management is staffed by professionals, recruited from both in and outside of the company. Most are university graduates. The senior level executive positions are held by persons with at least 10 years experience in their jobs.
To ensure that the company makes the right decision in the fast changing business situation and maintain growth at a high rate, Mertju Buana uses the services of leading management consultants.
Great attention is paid to employee development. Every employee is given an opportunity to develop through training, seminars, and courses, out of which an exchange of ideas and experiences is expected for the benefit of everyone.
The Strategy
Land is a commodity which cannot be re-produced, the amount is limited, the price continues to rise. From the very begining Mertju Buana has consciously chosen real property as an investment target.
